Triple Layer Security

The Longview Solution includes industry-defining IoT security, installing three defense layers at the network, device, and application levels:

  • Layer 1 – LoRa includes 128-bit encryption from the end device all the way to the application.
  • Layer 2 – At our manufacturer, we add a unique key to each sensor and gateway called a physically unclonable fingerprint (PUF), based on technology from IntrinsicID. This unique ID is created using physical anomalies that result from the chip manufacturing process, so no two are ever identical. The result is that each piece of Longview hardware is impossible to spoof.
  • Layer 3 – We use a full software certificate from GlobalSign SSL for the secure HTTPS access of all software. All devices have a private key infrastructure and authenticate as soon as they come online with a public key stored on the server.
